A Fully Qualified Teacher
Helping Boost Confidence and Grades!

Hello and Welcome

I’m John – an experienced, fully qualified Physics and Maths teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Physics, QTS, an enhanced DBS certificate, and up-to-date safeguarding training (May 2025).

I’ve worked in education since 2018, starting as a Teaching Assistant in Maths and Science before qualifying as a teacher in 2021. Since then, I’ve taught in secondary schools and now specialise in online tutoring that’s focused, low-stress, and results-driven.

I’m passionate about my subjects and genuinely love teaching. Helping students build confidence and achieve their goals is what I do every day.

Copies of my Qualifications and Safeguarding Certificates can be found on my Safeguarding Statement Page, available here.

My History

Growing up in East Finchley, London, I was always captivated by the idea of exploring new horizons. I’d spend afternoons daydreaming about travel—sometimes just watching the Tube trains rush past at Cherry Tree Wood, imagining where each one might be headed. I even made trips out to Heathrow, barely scraping together the fare, just to watch planes take off and dream of the destinations beyond the runway. These early moments of curiosity and wonder laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for discovery and learning.

That same spirit stayed with me as I pursued a BSc (Hons) in Combined STEM with the Open University. The flexibility of remote study allowed me to combine learning with travel—a combination that suited me perfectly. I still remember finishing a project on Special Relativity in the lobby of a hotel in Rome, just as the sun rose over the city. Studying on the move was a transformative experience, proving that education and exploration could go hand in hand.

Following this, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Sussex University and gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This led me into classroom teaching, where I taught Key Stage 3 Science, GCSE and A-Level Physics, and GCSE Mathematics in secondary schools along the South Coast.

From East Finchley to the wider world, my journey has shown me that learning doesn’t need to be confined to one place or path. I’m passionate about helping students unlock their potential and see that—with curiosity and determination—they can go far beyond what they ever thought possible.
